The festive season is upon us, and what better way to indulge in the magic of Christmas than with a visit to Luciano’s at Chorley? Known for its welcoming atmosphere and superb Italian fare, this charming family-run restaurant has unveiled a limited-time festive menu, and I had the pleasure of experiencing it firsthand. From rich starters to decadent desserts, Luciano’s has captured the essence of the season with dishes that are as indulgent as they are delicious.

Upon entering Luciano’s, you’re immediately enveloped by the warm, festive décor. Twinkling lights, tasteful holiday accents, and a genuine sense of hospitality make it clear that this is a restaurant that takes pride in both its food and its atmosphere. It’s the perfect setting for a cosy winter meal with friends or loved ones.

For £30, guests can enjoy a three-course festive set menu that perfectly balances seasonal flavours with the finest Italian ingredients. Given the quality of the dishes and the generous portions, the set menu is a fantastic value for anyone looking to indulge in a special holiday meal without breaking the bank.

As an appetizer, I opted for the Pate della Casa, a house-made chicken liver pâté, served with a gently spiced orange and cinnamon chutney and freshly baked crusty bread. The pâté itself was silky smooth and rich, with a beautifully balanced depth of flavour. The orange and cinnamon chutney added a delightful sweetness, while the subtle spice kept things intriguing. The homemade bread was an excellent accompaniment—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, making it the ideal vehicle to scoop up the creamy pâté. It was a perfect start to the festive dining experience, offering a warm and inviting taste of Christmas without being too heavy.

For the main course, I chose the Tortelloni al Salmone, a beautifully presented dish of egg pasta filled with tender salmon and dill, served in a creamy dill, parmesan, and spinach sauce. The tortelloni were perfectly cooked, with each bite delivering a burst of delicate flavours. The richness of the cream sauce was beautifully balanced by the fresh, herbaceous note of dill, which complemented the salmon without overpowering it. The addition of parmesan added a lovely tanginess, while the spinach provided a bit of greenery and texture. It was a dish that felt luxurious yet comforting—a true embodiment of what festive Italian dining should be.

For dessert, I chose the Meringa al Cocco, a gluten-free, vegan-friendly honey pavlova topped with coconut, white chocolate ganache, and a generous sprinkle of honeycomb. The pavlova itself was a masterpiece—crisp on the outside with a soft, marshmallow-like interior. The coconut offered a tropical touch, and the white chocolate ganache was both smooth and decadent. What truly elevated the dish was the addition of honeycomb, which provided a satisfying crunch and a burst of sweetness. Paired with a coconut and vanilla dressing, this dessert was the perfect way to end a festive meal—light yet indulgent, with a wonderful contrast of textures and flavours.

The service at Luciano’s was exceptional. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, offering thoughtful recommendations and ensuring our experience was as seamless as possible. The festive menu is thoughtfully curated, and the quality of the ingredients shines through in every dish. Whether you're a long-time fan of Italian cuisine or new to the restaurant, Luciano’s festive menu is sure to leave a lasting impression.
